Buy orders are location dependent, long-standing, public offers to buy specific goods at a set price. This is an organic way to express demand: a market where any good can be traded for any other.
Take the following user story: User A places a buy order for 300 wood for 3 gold coins. The user could just as easily trade 300 wood for 30 stone, or however much they feel is a fair trade.
